Director Biography - Javier Falcó

In the field of audiovisual production, his career is exclusive within the social, cultural and anthropological documentary.
He has co-directed the short film “The sky is above us” dedicated to the shellfish gatherers of Galicia together with Carlos Cazurro. This short film was selected at the Malaga Film Festival in 2018.
Individually, his first job as a director was in 2014 with "Els últims llops marins de l'illa de Tabarca" (The last monk seals of the island of Tabarca), a short documentary, which was selected in the official section of the Festival Internacional de Tabarca. Independent Cinema of Elche that same year.
In 2015, he made the short documentary "Memorias de Sidi Ifni" which was presented at the Estella culture house (Navarra) and was selected for the Eighth Alicante Short Film Festival.
In 2016, within the events of the cultural week of Albalate de las Nogueras (Cuenca), the short film “Hilaria” was presented and screened, which she made together with Javi Belda and Ximo Fernández.
From 2016 to 2019, together with other colleagues, he has been conducting various interviews with personalities from Elche within the series “Elche, life stories”.
In 2019 he made the short film “Candelas. Firewood brandy”.
In 2020, he photographed and edited Alejandro Falcó's short film, "From Siberia to the Mediterranean", which was selected and awarded at the Santa Pola Regional Short Film Contest 2021.
His latest work was “The empty box” - Award for Best Documentary in the first edition of the DOCS Alicante 2022 Contest. Alicante Institute of Culture Juan Gil-Albert (Alicante Provincial Council). Spain
