Joao Butoh is a multidisciplinary Brazilian artist.
Always seeking qualification for the complete artist. He is passionate about the image, which wove his universe in the language of theater and dance. Also in visual arts, scenography, creation and making of costumes or as a journalist he always maintained a close and fertile relationship.
He produced and directed several dozen commercial and institutional films for events and dance companies.
He started with the butoh dance in 1983, when he founded the Ogawa Butoh Center. It is considered the greatest exponent of Latin American butoh, with dozens of international awards for more than 50 butoh shows created and produced for Ogawa and other dance and theater companies and the participation of events in Thailand, Malaysia, Germany, Portugal, England , United States, Australia, Argentina, Mexico, Ecuador and Brazil.
He participated in the celebrations of 50 years of butoh in Bangkok-Thailand.
ALEPH is his first short film, there have been 149 participations in international film festivals, 107 awards in 31 countries.
