Jiwon Lee is a student filmmaker born in Korea, raised in Malaysia and China, and currently based in Los Angeles, California. She is the writer/director of the short film Afterlife (2019) (an official selection of Oniros Film Awards, Berlin Flash Film Festival, and Crown Wood International Film Festival) and The Drive (2021) (an official selection of Best Global Shorts and Under 5 Minute Film Festival). Jiwon loves to delve into the complexities of the human psyche and human relationships in her stories. She hopes for her stories to kindle something within the audience’s most intimate dreams and memories. In addition to being a filmmaker, Jiwon is the author of her recently published memoir, The Third Culture Teen, which tells the story of growing up as a Third Culture Kid.
