Jim hails from the epicenter of the film business - Richmond, VA. Taking full advantage of his proximity to the cornucopia of industry opportunities, at age 13, he scored a finalist placement in the Virginia Film Office’s “Governor’s Screenwriting Competition” for his feature-length screenplay, “Jett Jeffries." This would become the origin of his passion for screenwriting. After writing, directing and producing his own short film, "The Good Fight," in a summer intensive at the North Carolina School of the Arts, he was part of the inaugural cinema class at Virginia Commonwealth University; pretty much exactly the same thing as NYU Film School. Jim strives to tell a diverse array of stories, with his latest four screenplays including the new-age romcom, "Nine Weddings," the dramatic self-discovery tale, "Soular," the gripping thriller, "The Day The Money Ran Out," and the one-crazy-night rideshare saga, "Uber," which received an Honorable Mention in the 2025 Big Apple Film Festival.
