Director Biography - Olha Bondarieva

Hey, my name is Olha, I am an aspiring filmmaker and cinematographer from Ukraine (Poltava). At university I studied journalism. There I got basic knowledge about filming, scriptwriting and directing. In 2023 I took part in several educational programs at WAMA Film Festival (Poland) and SPA - Script Pitching Academy (Poland). My directorial debut happened in 2024 with the movie "Jexxi".

My dream is to create a movie that will touch the hearts of many people all over the world and will glorify Ukrainian cinema all over the world.

Director Statement

The desire to create is stronger than opportunity. The idea lives in all of us.
I made this movie in a small town, during blackouts and without a budget. I gathered the team by chance, because talented people who really love movies live everywhere.

Looking back on the journey, it seems crazy to me. But we did it. Faith in the idea and in the art of cinema is stronger than any obstacles
