Jesse Williams, currently studying filmmaking at Screen and Film School Brighton, began their career in film when they served as a Young Audience Award Juror at the European Film Awards 2018, continuing as a member of the Nomination Committee at the same event in 2019.
They began directing whilst studying at The London Film Academy, directing short-film ‘Delirium’ at the age of fourteen, and have continued to create short-films and music videos in their free time, winning 'Best Director' at the 2023 Brighton 48 Hour Film Project for 'Till Death Do Us Part' and releasing 'One More Song' to festival success!
As a trans-identifying filmmaker, Jesse's works are often concerned with representation of marginalised identities, with a particular focus on the LGBTQIA+ community. Their latest short films 'The Sewing Circle', 'Rebirth' and 'Positive' aim to be their most intimate, personal and ambitious works yet!
