Jesse Barksdale is a writer, director, and video game designer. He attended film school at Florida State University, where he completed a directed study in screenwriting. He was a finalist for the Coca-Cola Refreshing Filmmaker's Award, and his student short Heartburn won second place at the Sidewalk Film Festival.
After school, Jesse began working in the video games industry. He created the static speaks my name, which has been downloaded nearly a million times and has 40 million+ views on YouTube. He spent several years living abroad, working in Finland as a writer/designer on educational video games, and in Sweden as a writer and cinematics director on Overkill's The Walking Dead, based on the popular TV/comic series. He works now as a cinematics director on an unannounced new game.
Jesse's work has been featured by The Washington Post, Vice, Kotaku, Rock Paper Shotgun, PC Gamer, PewDiePie, Markiplier, Jacksepticeye, Jay Is Games, IndieGames.com, Pop Matters, Dread Central, The Absolute Mag, and more. He lives in Los Angeles, and recently completed his feature debut Bluebird.
