Jerry Coel is my first feature film. Before, i went to movies and wrote my own screenplays. My first movies i saw when i was about 8 years old. My parents did borrow some Videotapes from the Videostore. Then they went out, so my brothers and me were home alone and we did notice the tapes of Sam Raimi's "Evil dead" and Ingmar Bergmann's "Persona". We did watch it and i was so impressed what i have seen that i instandly fell in love with my father's Videocamera and started to do my movies. I started stop-motion movies with my toys. That was 1992. Then my father have sold the Videocamera out of a bad financial situation and i was left alone with the imagination what cinema is capable of. So i watched all movies i could, then writing screenplays What could a cinematic dream child do in the age of 8 years old). Then finished school, college, started to work and collect money. Then i bought my very own camera and started to shoot short movies. Now was the time coming to shoot my own screenplays and i started with "Jerry Coel".
I did write "Jerry Coel" in my John Carpenter and italian Giallo Phase. What i loved the most is to create atmosphere. Thrilling atmosphere what starts slow and rises up. I became a big fan of silent movies who still have the power to create an atmosphere even without Dialog and sound effects. Everybody who watches Jerry Coel can have their own opinion about it. For me was important to create something that i love. My first idea of writing Jerry Coel was, what happens when the guys from a Scorsese movie meets Jason from Friday the 13th. So i started to write and i love to do genre crossovers, so i mixed a gangster crime Story with a slasher movie.
