I write about outsiders and the way in which we are all trying to fit-in. There are many more stories that need to be told from the perspective of a woman. I think currently we're only just scratching at the surface - exciting times are ahead of us!
I did my Drama & Languages Degree at Manchester Uni in ‘92 and I’ve been involved in Theatre-in-Education, independent film and theatre productions ever since. I am passionate about developing my film making skills now. I gained useful practice in controlling story structure when I participated in Beth McCann’s (Scriptwriting North) PHD research ‘Converting short-form into long-form narrative’. I was also shortlisted for BBC Studios Writers’ Academy in 2022: I was in the top 26% of submissions with my pilot screenplay 'Lifeline'. I developed romcom one pagers for Reel One in 2022 and was shortlisted for ITV Academy Original Voices October 2023.
