Jennifer Hathaway is an animator, director, and fine artist. Currently, she is working on CG animated projects which will bring awareness to two distinct issues. The first being addiction and its negative effect on a person’s pivotal relationships. The second, showcasing the negative effects on mental health brought about by narcissistic family relationships.
Her 2021 short film called ‘I’m Here’ focuses on the negative effects of bullying and it’s role on mental health. In 2019, Hathaway directed a collaborative stop-motion short film titled, ‘Descending Dreamscapes’ which discerns dreamscape psychology and contains multiple stop- motion mediums. She earned a B.F.A. in Animation from Ball State University in 2011, and a M.F.A. at Ball State University in 2020. In 2010 she was the recipient of the Ball State University Department of Art Scholarship.
Hathaway’s film I’m Here has screened worldwide, showing in international festivals in Germany, The United Kingdom, Italy, and India. I’m Here has also screened in several locations in the U.S. including in the states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, and Indiana. The film has also won several prestigious awards from festivals in India, Europe, and in the United States.
She has exhibited her fine artwork throughout her home state of Indiana. When not doing something creative, Hathaway enjoys working with her Golden Retrievers, enjoying theme parks, and hiking in an array of America’s National Parks. Hathaway is a Muncie, Indiana native and is a proud Midwesterner.
