Animation is a medium to tell stories, not a genre. Being an animator is a chosen lifestyle existing in the space between filmmaking, fine art, storytelling, and old fashioned creativity.
Jennifer Hathaway is an animator, director, and fine artist. Currently, she is working on CG animated projects which will bring awareness to two distinct issues. Her 2021 short film called ‘I’m Here’ focuses on the negative effects of bullying and it’s role on mental health. In 2019, Hathaway directed a collaborative stop-motion short film titled, ‘Descending Dreamscapes’ which discerns dreamscape psychology and contains multiple stop- motion mediums. She earned a B.F.A. in Animation from Ball State University in 2011, and a M.F.A. at Ball State University in 2020. In 2010 she was the recipient of the Ball State University Department of Art Scholarship.
