Mohammed Karim Ghonima is a visual artist based in Houston, Texas. He earned a BFA from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, Washington. Karim's painting portfolio can been seen online at www.ghonima.com.
Making art has always been a big part of my life. I got my start as a kid drawing pictures of my classmates posing with Star Wars characters when the movie first came out. Painting is my primary medium for telling my stories and now digital animation has allowed me to tell those stories in an entirely new medium and to a much broader audience.
My work has always been a documentary of the communities and world we live in and is intended to start a dialogue on many subjects but the most common theme in my work is making observations of where different groups of peoples lives intersect and overlap.
