Jazz Club

The film is narratively constructed in three acts vertebrate by the memories of a club of jazz that will be demolished shortly. The first story (Alto Saxo), is starring a poor and prodigious child, who has enough talent to win the most important contest of solos in the town at the end of the 50s. The second (Contrabass with bow) recounts the experiences of a virtuoso bassist who suffers the siege of a critic in the 90s, and the third (solo piano), presents the promising career of a young town pianist today.

Director Statement

Narrated in three different eras, the film is intended to pay homage to three revolutionary figures in jazz: Charlie Parker, Jaco Pastorius and Emiliano Salvador, who was Esteban's father-in-law.
The first story (alto sax) is played by a poor boy, but prodigious, with enough talent to win the most important contest of solos of the town at the end of the 50s.
The second story (double bass with bow) tells the decay of a vanguard bassist who suffers the sickly siege of a mediocre critic.
Finally, the third story (piano solo), presents the promising career of a young Catholic pianist and people, currently, who will have to face the evil, beyond their own talent and ingenuity.
