János Esterházy. Unerased history.
János Esterházy. Unforgettable history "is a touching, turbulent and tragic story of a Hungarian count, grandson of the chancellor of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow (PL), one of the largest and oldest universities in Europe. He was brought up in a Polish-Hungarian home and culture. Under the treaty of Trianon, he suddenly became a resident of Slovakia and took on his shoulders the fight for the fate of all national minorities, and during World War II he saved many Poles, and at his home in Budapest he organized conspiratorial meetings of Polish politicians and military during World War II, it would be suitable for a spectacular series presenting the history of Central Europe from the end of World War I to the communist regime. After WWII, for revealing Stalinist crimes, mainly the Katyn massacre, he was taken to Moscow to Lubyanka and in 1946 he was sentenced to many years in labor camps and work in a porcelain factory, that made him deadly ill. Until 1957 he was in 11 prisons - also in Lviv, then in Czechoslovakia - from Pilsen to Leopoldov, he died in Mirov, in the heaviest prison for political prisoners, and his ashes were not handed over to the family until 2017! In 2011, he received the award posthumously of Jan Karski from the American Anti-Defamation League for saving Jews during World War II.
