Yuan Amandy is a student filmmaker and producer based in Manila, currently completing his undergraduate degree in Communication at Far Eastern University. With a focus on film production and marketing, he has worked on over 20 short films across fiction, documentary, and hybrid forms. His work often centers on advocacy-driven stories tackling climate justice, LGBTQIA+ rights, and women’s rights. Amandy has also collaborated with government institutions such as the Philippine Commission on Women and the Climate Change Commission to produce films rooted in social relevance, highlighting his commitment to socially conscious storytelling.
He takes pride in being part of films that have been recognized both locally and internationally, including Happy (M)other’s Day (People’s Choice, Manila Film Festival 2024), Bahay Baboy Bagyo (Best Film, Active Vista Human Rights Film Festival 2024), and RAMPAGE! O Parada (Gender Sensitivity Award, QCinema International Film Festival 2024). Amandy has gained valuable experience through internships at the Quezon City Film Commission and The IdeaFirst Company, and by contributing to larger projects like EDJOP, In Thy Name, and And The Breadwinner Is… His films have been screened at festivals such as CCP Gawad Alternatibo, SinePiyu, Cinema Rehiyon, and NABIFILMEX. Whether leading a small student team or collaborating on bigger productions, he approaches every project with care, creativity, and a deep respect for the collaborative nature of filmmaking.
