As with most people born into this world, I did not have an innate sense of where I wanted my life to go from an early age, or even by the time I was in my early twenties. I was a wanderer, slipping outside of the norms of which I grew up. I experimented; I failed; I tried again. And through all of the uncertainty, struggle and adventure, something beautiful and true finally emerged...
...I want to tell stories. I want to create, inspire, invoke, and entertain.
From the not-so-successful parodies I created in my childhood, with titles such as Bridge over Yugoslavia and Crystals are Forever, to my short films at the Savannah College of Art and Design, evolving now into feature screenplays and television pilots, film has been with me from the beginning, though that realization took quite awhile to take hold.
I am glad that it did, however, because I do not want to imagine doing anything else. I'm excited to see where this job takes me with all of its instability and volatility. There is rarely a moment that is certain, but that forces quick adaptation and spontaneity, which are two of my fortes. At the end of it all, no matter what may happen along the way, I will look back and know that I took the right path.
