Jaime Andres Martinez is a Colombian Canadian filmmaker based in Toronto.
Growing up as a first-generation immigrant in Quebec, Jaime found solace in the arts during confusing times and after finishing his studies in the film and animation program in CEGEP, he pursued his passion for storytelling further by moving to Toronto to study at TMU.
His filmography tends to focus on oddball characters dealing with unpleasant realities of life, making for films that stride the line between comedy and drama, such as in the short film Sanctuary (2023), where two stoners realize their childhood friendship has become fragile after being caught smoking during mass or such as UFO BROS (2024) where a amateur UFO hunter duo break up over their changing priorities in life all the while being visited by actual Aliens.
As his catalogue of directed films grow so does Jaime’s ambition, each previous experience encouraging him to push his skills he strives to create movies that are just as entertaining as they are thought provoking.
