"You're a star, you'll go far." -Belle & Sebastian
Born and raised in East LA, Jacqueline Castañeda is an actress, singer, and writer who has performed in various projects with theater companies such as the Garry Marshall Theatre, Towne Street Theatre, A Noise Within, Casa 0101 Theater, Frida Kahlo Theater, and Breath of Fire Latina Theater Ensemble.
In the past year, under the guidance of teaching artists through Center Theatre Group's community partnership programming, Jacqueline studied physical theater and writing for stage/film, where she produced her first self-directed short and penned her first ten-minute play, all in the span of a few weeks.
Throughout 2021 and leading into this current year, Jacqueline has written, produced, and starred in a number of comedic shorts with some friends and fellow acting colleagues, premiering the videos on the Youtube channel Venture Works, with some shorts selected in The LA Comedy Film Fest, LA LA Latinx Film Fest, and Cannes Short Film Fest.
She is a firm believer that art is essential to promote a sense of growth, community, and activism and looks forward to creating more beautiful moments on stage and in film in the coming year.
