Director - Yaz Al-Shaater
Director Statement

Primarily a director, theatre-maker, actor, and film-maker. I also work as a fringe venue manager, writer, video-editor, dramaturg, theatre producer, facilitator, edfringe consultant, and occasionally as an actor.

I'm interested in and/or specialise in comedy, Shakespeare, interactivity, new writing, gender-bending art, speed, and work that explores class, masculinity, sexism, climate change, and racial issues.

I co-founded or co-created Three's Company (a theatre company), Underground Venues (an arts venue group), Smooth Faced Gentlemen (all-female shakespeare), Missing Something (a sitcom), and Brother Brother (we make films) .
But mostly, these days, I'm a film and theatre director.
