Director Statement

The character of Julio Irving began as one of my first skit characters on my instagram @seriouslylouddanny. At the time, he was no more than a sports instructor who was terrible at his job, but his personality brought about new evolutions and stories. With "JULIO: The Julio Irving Story About Julio Irving (Starring Julio Irving)" I wanted to create something with an ensemble of absurd, over the top characters that were still grounded by a single theme-legacy. As insane as the personalities may get, they are all connected by the desire to be remembered and loved, and I think that's something that deep down, everyone can relate to.
