Director Biography - José Antonio Martínez

José Antonio Martínez Lizardo was born in the Dominican Republic on April 19, 1999. He lived in the province of Azua, until the age of 18, and currently resides in Santo Domingo. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the School of Cinema and Audiovisual Communication at INTEC in Santo Domingo. Jose's line of work has focused on a diverse set of fiction and documentary short films. He has been a director, writer, photographer, and editor on various academic and professional projects. Jose's signature style is black and white cinema, and his work is rooted in the pursuit of exploring Caribbean culture through the cinematic lense.
