Caleb Viti is a producer and musician based in Chicago, IL. After studying filmmaking he shifted his creative focus to music and is now the lead singer of his band, V!T! (Virtual Touch). He loves bringing creative ideas to life through film, music and fashion mediums.
Alan Yammin is a cinematographer based in Paphos, Cyprus. Over the last 10 years, he studied in the UK and the USA, shooting multiple short films as well as working on numerous short and feature projects. He strives in a fast-paced and ambitious environment.
Caleb Viti and Alan Yammin both have been involved in developing the ideas and themes of the project from the very beginning. On set, however, with one strongest in producing and the other in cinematography allowed each to focus on different aspects of production. The time of production occurred during the recent global pandemic, which had to limit our creative choices, such as models wearing masks and the limited number of crew on set. We worked around numerous ways of approaching the production, even through the obstacles we faced.
Fashion mediums can be expressed in various creative forms, such as the design itself, manufacturing, marketing, and other ways to give a message or a voice to the collections. In the case of JOI, it combines both fashion and film mediums together, creating a showcase of expressive clothing designs with their own unique individual voice. “Connections”, “Sweet Escape” and “Extinction” all have their own personalities, made by three different designers: Bichoy Boutros, Brooklynn Huerta, and Raj Patel. It is the way we appear to others and ourselves, that can dictate our own unique perspective. “While one is clothed, the other is naked." - JOI
