Jess Elise is a singer/songwriter and professional trumpet player based in Los Angeles. She has been in music her whole life- between singing in her temple choir, to playing trumpet in all-state orchestras- Jess has been passionate about all aspects of music for forever. She dwells in both the classical world of music and the popular music side with songwriting and collaborating with other artists and music business aspects. She runs a student record label at Orange County School of the Arts, and teaches young aspiring musicians how to navigate the music world. Education and female representation are a huge part of her love for music. Jess believes in cultivating community, collaboration, and creativity in her work. After so many years of playing in orchestras, doing background vocals, and writing for other artists, Jess has finally launched her brand new artist project “Jess Elise.” Much of her music and top-lining is inspired by the traditional jewish melodies and ashkenazic music theory she grew up with in temple. With a deep love for huge stacked harmonies and Paramore-influenced vocal lines she is excited to continue on her new path as a solo artist/songwriter.
