The film is a flash back to the year 2018 Kerala flood, One of the worst floods India has even seen. It is an exploration into the natural, political and environmental causes of the flood, which results in untold human casualties and economic destruction.
A man is forced to travel with a missing man’s brother to the mountain dam sight. His brother Shaheed was missing after the flood. The plot of the film is about the sights and realizations they saw on the hilltop after the flood. At last the quest entering in to the new era for searching another Shaheed who was also missing after a flood. The term Shaheed literally means martyr. The film proceeds through real events, and real visuals. The characters are almost the real people that naturally came in to the scene.

Protests and legal battles have been going on for years against the destruction of the Western Ghats forest in Kerala. The film is one of his many activities focusing on water pollution and river protection.
Jalapatham means the civilization of water and the civilization water created. From the midst of the disaster we tried to report the biggest flood 2018 disaster that Kerala has ever seen . This film was shot standing between the landslides and the terrible flood. There are no artificial lights or professional artists in the film. Even the script is formed after the shooting is over. The camera of the film is completely hand held.
