Izyum. Half a year of the russian world
"Izyum. Half a year of the russian world" is a documentary project from the creative association "Izyumska Polynytsya" (Izyum Strawberry). The residents of Izyum talk about the events related to the invasion of the occupation forces of the Russian Federation into a small town in the east of Ukraine.
Memories of personal tragedies and experiences evoke a strong sympathy for these people and a sense of respect for their courage and resilience. The terrible actions of the occupiers and the suffering of the local population from the invasion of the occupation forces of the Russian Federation cause pain, contempt and anger.
The 33 hellish days of military confrontation in the city, divided by the Siverskyi Donets river, then occupation. These events brought suffering and loss to the local residents of picturesque Izium and surrounding settlements.
Losses in the cultural and industrial sectors already cause great sadness and longing. After all, all these were components of the development of the city and its historical heritage.
The material is collected according to the main topics: torture chambers, collaborators, looting and stories of residents who escaped from shelling in the basements of buildings. These stories are intertwined with the memories of defenders, volunteers, doctors and patriotic citizens who became participants and victims of these terrible events.
"Izyum. Half a year of the russian world" is a project full of various emotions that cause deep thought and reflection in us. It is also material that can be a historical chronicle of the terrible times of war for our descendants.w
