In this short film, a hand with arthritis explains the abuses she lives in hands of her cat and how she avoids to tell people because everyone says that "they just can't think about her cat in that way"... Or something like that.

Director Biography - Yara Tabrera

Yara Alejandra Taboada Cabrera studied special education and got an honorific mention. Yara also lives with disability, this is the reason why she always includes people with disability in her shorts.
In 2021 she wrote her monologue called "Video-diario" that talks about a girl with schizophrenia that is trying to make a video for her psychiatrist as she is having delusions. This made her win the "Cabeza Parlante Popular 2021" (Popular talking head 2021) at the II CONCURSO DE MONÓLOGOS CORTOS CABEZAS PARLANTES.
Then, in 2022, she studied documentary film at Escuela de cine comunitario y Fotografía "Pohualizcalli". In that semester, she wrote and directed her first short film "Suficiente" (Enough) where she talks about the violations of human rights of people with disability living in Mexico. This short film was selected in th "Lift-Off filmmakers sessions 2022" and the "Black Cat Awards 2022". In 2023 It was shortlisted for DUEMILA30.
Her last short films uploaded to filmfreeway are "Take your meds" and "I wish i was human"; in the other hand, there are also two projects on the making.
