1st generation immigrant to parents from a remote village in the Mexican plains. Brandon Delgado has had a fascination for storytelling through film since he first watched, "Her", after his first heartbreak at the age of 14! Such a well-timed, moving experience inspired him to write his first ever script, "Retrogress" at a whopping 73 pages!
Brandon Delgado is never afraid to take risks. During the 2019 COVID stock market boom, he made high risk, high reward investments which ultimately paid off, but it doesn't end there. Using more than half the money he made, Brandon Delgado proceeded to produce his first ever movie, "The Lottery", on his own, in the summer of 2020. A learning experience, to say the least.
Since then, something awakened in him, and he has been on a nonstop, almost workaholic grind, enrolling in his university's film program and going on to create 3 more films for the 2021 year, totaling 4 films in 7 months.
The movie is about the restoration of brotherhood. The first step is always the hardest. You can small talk all you want, reminiscent about the past, maybe even try to persuade the other to take the first step, but that's just not how it works.
Leon and Llewellyn show a damaged relationship with an elephant in the room to which Leon believes, "Out of sight, out of mind", but Llewellyn comfortably sits next to. The longer Leon avoided the lingering issues hanging over them, the more bottled
This film was inspired by a dream I had in 2019. Although there wasn't a linear story to it, I immediately woke up and wrote down every detail I could. Then, in January 2020, I wrote the script. I held off on the finished script while working on other projects, but after the fall school semester ended, for a few days, I debated on turning this script into a film.
On December 6th, I settled with my decision to turn "I wish I knew you" the script, into the film. Within three weeks before freezing weather hit the area, I had to:
-Rent equipment
-Cast actors
-Scout locations
-Polish the script
-Storyboard the film
-Find parking
All with a $450 budget. We filmed in 4 nights in crisp weather, right before the new year hit. I am proud of the end product and will look back on the project with fond memories.
