Ivytide - overgrown

Ivytide’s “overgrown” captures an undying willingness to hold on to a fleeting relationship. As feelings start to become “overgrown”, the protagonist makes a dire attempt at saving what once was. The song delves into the reminiscence of good times, such as dancing in a room full of people, while signaling glimpses of dysfunctionality along the way. Ivytide’s “overgrown” was written and recorded at a cabin in the woods of Northern Quebec, which is captured by the raw emotionality embedded in its singer-songwriter style. Blended with acoustic/folk elements, the song’s well-thought-out lyrics are guaranteed ear-worms.

Director Statement

The concept for ivytide's 'overgrown' video was created based off of the inspiration for the song itself.
The instability of a young and immature relationship, and the eventual fallout that ensues.
The goal was to capture the beginning, middle and end of this kind of relationship, and portray the protagonist finding his own closure by the end.
