Danae Islas is a Director - Cinematographer, living between London and Berlin. Recently graduated from the University for the Creative Arts in the United Kingdom, with a Bachelors Degree in Film Production. There, she worked on numerous projects, from commercials to music videos, documentaries, and short films.
Danae became first involved in film making back in 2001, when she entered a competition at Arte7, in Mexico City. She didn't win that competition, but certainly found her true calling.
Ivy is not a 'coming out' story. Ivy's statement is about normalizing love. The character's conflict is not being in love with a girl, but with her best friend.
Ivy is a story about being in love at an age were we are clumsy, led by our desires and inexperience. Hopefully, learning from our mistakes.
