Ivan Tusabe is a Ugandan filmmaker passionate about film. A graduate of the Multichoice Talent Factory and the New York Film Academy, Tusabe made his breakthrough in Uganda's film industry as part of the writing team for Kyaddala, a renowned TV series. Since then, he has brought to life many notable projects, including Cheza, the Kalasha award-winning Kenyan musical drama, and First Eleven, a sports drama.
Tusabe made his directorial debut with Scam Club, a short film that received a nomination at the Ugandan Film Festival. His most recent work, Jimbi, explores the psychological impact of bystander guilt and is centered on a timid man grappling with a supernatural affliction after witnessing an assault.
In addition to his work as a filmmaker, Tusabe founded Ewaka Cine Films, a production company aimed at supporting local businesses, NGOs, and storytellers.
