Director Biography - SERGIO M. VILLAR

Sergio M. Villar (Santander, Spain) 1979
Graduated in Fine Arts (audiovisual) in 2007, in 2013 he directed his first fiction short film “Aroma-Sed”, selected at festivals in Ireland, Mexico and Spain.
Also in 2013 was 1st Assistant Director of "Rearviewmirror" by Alberto Lavin, Best Narrative Short Film in the New York City International Film Festival
In 2016 he directed the video clip “Who's that boy” of the song composed and produced by Jacobo Calderón and performed by Marina Orta and Eduardo Rosa.
Currently in pre-production of “Regular Cutback” second fiction short film that has Lander Otaola as the main actor.
He just finished "Itsaso", a brief experimental shortfilm shooted entirely with an Iphone 11.

Director Statement

This short film explores the new narrative possibilities offered by the new smart phones.

It was conceived and shot in just 9 days, from script to the final copy. That's from 3 to 12 of this month, october 2021

15 days after the script was written and 9 days since the short was presented to the first festival, it receives 2 international selections at the Independent Short Awards in Los Angeles, California for Best mobile short and Best microfilm.

All of this in only 15 days ¿isn't it amazing?
