It's Almost 8

Julia is a young woman, thirty-year old, unconscious of her boredom, who is passionate for a twenty-year old girl. She knows her very well, because she was her baby-sitter 10 years ago. During an evening Lena gets the attention of Julia. This second meeting between both women crystalizes the beginning of Julia's fall.

Director Statement

Through It’s Almost 8 I tried to raised the subject of the meeting between two women with different stages of their life to show the consequences of how a changing glance can impact a person, a life which claim to be able to be balanced. I wanted to show that Julia’s search of happiness is little by little blurred and become a real addiction to a woman. I wished showing off the feeling of fascination that Julia experiences for Lena. This shows also an attractive and beautiful unhealthy side that they will crossed altogether.

The sexuality takes an important place in the movie as it is a pretext in the unconscious destruction of the stereotype of a thirty-year old stable woman. Julia indeed lives in a homogeneous world in which Lena embodies an error in her life. This movie it’s the impossible attempt of the adaptation of a constant facing a variable.

I don’t have a lot to say about this movie. I felt the need in a period of my life to transcribe happy as painful episodes of my teenage years.
