Experiencing Interruptions?

Is That Water? I'll Just Have a Taste

A deliciously subversive take on Kitchen sink realism, 'Is That Water? I'll Just Have a Taste' is a cynical docufiction that looks at power dynamics between family, friends and their 'babies'. Set in a house in England, Machiavellian and inappropriate Purse hosts an intimate christening party for her friend, Elf, a people-pleasing albeit imprudent new mum. Purse also invites chronically passive Dame who currently resides at her house and doting dad Tim. The new baby quickly takes a back seat to the attention of the hostess and guests but not to the attention of the viewer. The events of the cosy gathering partly shown through the ever-present eyes and voice of the disregarded baby. ‘Real life’ interludes interrupt the core narrative, which document Coppola’s own family at two domestic locations around Christmas time.
