Iris Jacobs (1979) is a Dutch writer, director, multidisciplinary artist and cultural designer based in Barcelona, working internationally in cinema, theatre, and performance arts. Her directing style is intuitive and collaborative, guiding actors and dancers to explore vulnerability, truth, authenticity, and emotional depth. Inspired by relationship dynamics, the human condition and the theatre of life, she creates poetic spaces where personal truth emerges through movement, narrative, and visual storytelling.
With a background in theatre production and art direction, Jacobs brings a sharp eye for atmosphere and symbolism to her work. She specializes in physical storytelling, often blending improvisation, movement practices, and cinematic language to unlock deep emotional expression. Her short film 'Fight Flight Free' (2018) exemplifies this approach, merging performance and visual poetry.
Currently in pre-production for multiple film and theatre projects, including her feature films Everything I Didn't Tell You and A Flight to Paradise, Jacobs also leads creative workshops through 'Curious Creatives Club,' a Barcelona-based community she founded in 2018, dedicated to supporting artistic exploration and collaboration.
