Edwin Haorokcham was born in Imphal, Manipur, which is a small state in north-east of India. He is the only child of Eigyajit Haorokcham and Kamala (o) Haorokcham, a film producer and a school teacher. His father's elder brother Sanakhya Ibotombi Haorokcham is a National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi graduate student and a renowned theatre personality. Edwin's influence in films came from his uncle Sanakhya Ibotombi. He graduated from Frameboxx Animation, Bangalore as a Bachelor of Science in Animation and Visual Effects.
