Ioannis (Yannis/John) Mathioudakis is a BA student in the Division of Theater & Cinema Studies at the Department of Philology at the University of Crete.
In 2022, he completed his internship in the Department of Theater Studies at the Institute for Mediterranean Studies (IMS/FORTH). In 2023, he received a Reward Scholarship from the IMS/FORTH within the context of the Laboratory of Image, Sound, and Movement.
He directed and filmed the short documentary Ashes, which won the award for Best International Documentary at the AltFF Alternative Film Festival and the Audience Award at the Ierapetra Documentary Festival.
Active in theater and drama, he was awarded the "Vaggelis Yakoumakis" Scholarship by the School of Theater of Theatrikos Periplous in 2021 for his performances. He has published a research article titled "Foreign Theatre Troupes on Tour: ‘Citta Di Palermo’ in Greece in 1922" in the Parabasis Journal of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). Additionally, he has contributed articles to theater programs (playbills), the local press, and online platforms.
