Director Biography - Lynette Jones Turpin

Lynn Jones-Turpin's career spans over 30 years in the area of Broadcast Journalism. Lynn is the Associate Editor and Sales Team Manager for the Jacksonville Free Press (www.jacksonvillefreepress.com). She publishes and reports on local, national, entertainment and travel news impacting the African Diaspora.
Lynn’s production broadcasting experience includes hosting and producing her hit TV Show: The Lynn & Friends Show. With a successful 10 year run, Lynn catalogued over 100 shows (www.lynnandfriends.com).
Additionally, Lynn is a community scientist for the University of Florida Cares 2 Team focusing on prostate cancer and the detriments of health in the African American Community. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications. She is President of the local Northeast Florida National Association of Black Journalist (NEFLNABJ) chapter and a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.

Director Statement

Lynn Jones-Turpin has come out the gate with her first documentary film entitled, “Involving Me", featuring Cerebral Palsy advocate Rashad "The Truth on Wheels" Solomon.
Solomon and Jones-Turpin met nine years ago when his mother wrote a book detailing her family dysfunction and raising two sons with Cerebral Palsy.
"Involving Me" is a poignant documentary showcasing Shad TheTruthOnWheels, who has Cerebral Palsy. He is an African American male not afraid to show the public his disability challenges and his life as a gay man. Inside the documentary, he hosts his podcast, "Involving Me", where he interviews others with disabilities, hoping to give them a voice, and share their lives on a bigger platform.
