In the Still of the Night is an intense short thriller that follows the unsettling experiences of a woman who moves into a new apartment. As she settles into her new home, she quickly becomes plagued by a mysterious and disturbing phenomenon: her upstairs neighbor relentlessly bangs on the floor, her ceiling, every night. This persistent disturbance disrupts her sleep, leaving her terrified, confused, and pushed to the brink of sanity.

Director Biography - Emely de Paiva

Emely de Paiva studied acting at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York.

Since graduating she has acted in multiple short films, among them award-winning mockumentary "The Porn Radio Show" by director Vincenzo De Sio.

With two other Anton Chekhov enthusiasts she has founded the theater company "The Chekhovians" in 2022. They have produced two shows "An Afternoon with Anton" in New York and "La Festa Del Cigno" in Chiavenna, Italy.

Emely wrote the screenplay for "In the Still of the Night", which is also her directorial debut.

Director Statement

I have carried this story with me for a while and it was a wonderful, stressful, scary, funny, rewarding and very educational experience to bring it to life and see it grow.

Now I am looking forward to hopefully many people experiencing and enjoying what we created.
