Director Statement

While studying the words of Earnest Hemingway and James Baldwin in Paris, I fell in love with their ability to force the reader draw inferences about the desires of the characters to understand the meanings behind their stories. In that regard, most women have a hard time finding "the perfect mate." The one who loves them for who they are and not who a man desires them to be. This is a principle I chose to explore with this film because while Paris is known to be "the city of love," it doesn't necessarily mean the admiration or love has to come from someone else for one to be satisfied, it can also come from yourself.
