In the Bauhaus Kitchen

Drawing from the essay of Nicholas Fox Weber, In The Bauhaus Kitchen, this project documentary celebrates the Bauhaus centenary through a study and reinterpretation of the interwoven nature between food culture and design in the daily life of the Bauhaus. Over 60 creative minds collaboratively explore the intersections of art, design and gastronomy in the same inventive play that Albers and Klee had exemplified. The fruits of their labour culminate in a singular sensorial experience and visual feast.

Director Biography - Joan Simó

I´m creative director, publicist, film director and photographer. Running my own production company: RECCREATIUS.
My visual style is innovative, elegant and creative. I would define my work´s aesthetics as careful and delicate, where sensitivity and music always go hand in hand.

I'm excited about everything about the video. When I have a good idea, I simply convert it to images.
I like to work as if I were a craftsman, turning each video into a unique audiovisual piece. Always looking for the details: I play with the images, the light, the music, ... to create a small work of art from each film while my camera never stops rolling.

I have been working in the audiovisual sector for 30 years. I started working as a freelance photojournalist in the late eighties. I live in Barcelona where I collaborate with brands such as Puig, Danone, Littlecreativefactory, AUDI, BMW, SEAT…

In the last 5 years and with the photographer Jaume de Laiguana I have worked on numerous international audiovisual projects for Shakira, Alejandro Sanz, Penélope Cruz and Gerard Piqué.

Another of my clients is the content producer El TERRAT by Andreu Buenafuente. Together we have made audiovisual pieces with Silvia Abril, Isabel Coixet, Santiago Segura, Paco León, David Broncanco ...

I have created several video clips for music band SIDONIE.

At a documentary level I have just directed "In the Bauhaus Kitchen" which is currently being presented at different festivals internationally.
