Robespierre Simões, stage name Pierre Simões, is an actor, pianist, and composer. Born in Divinópolis, MG, he began his musical studies in the Military School Band in Belo Horizonte from 1972 to 1978, playing the requinta and tuba. During this period he participated in several music festivals at the school, winning third place in 1977. In 1979 he entered the University of Brasilia to study music, obtaining his degree in 1984. He was part of the UnB folkloric group in a trip to Libya for the International Folklore Festival, promoted by the government of that country. He took part in several music festivals and meetings promoted by cultural agitators, such as Panelão da Arte, Concerto Cabeças, and many others. He took part in the effervescent musical scene in Brasilia in the 80's playing with artists, nowadays renowned in the city and in the Brazilian scene, such as Cássia Eller, Rubi and Milton Guedes. In 1987 he went to work with Oswaldo Montenegro in the musicals Aldeia dos Ventos and Dança do Signos, also touring the country with the show Apenas Música. In 1988 he began teaching music theory subjects at Faculdade Dulcina de Moraes, in Brasília. In 1989 he was invited by Gonzaguinha for a very successful tour in the southern states of Brazil. He played in several ball bands for many years, especially in the Banda Sexto Sentido in Campinas, where he learned digital music and MIDI sequencing. He toured Spain and Portugal with Coral Sarazate, in occasion of EXPO 98. He has released 40 independent CDs, including interpretations of various genres, Umbanda points and authorial songs, being "My iron baby on the road" the most recent CD. In mid-2005 he began working professionally with puppet theater, and released a book with plays written for this audience. He has participated as an actor in several shows He has participated as an actor in several plays, such as Negro ANJO AZUL, by Ricardo Torres and O tribunal dos Divórcios, by Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, directed by Tulio Guimarães. He performed with the puppet theater group THALITA CURUMIM in several theaters in the Federal District, especially the Yara Amaral Theater, in Taguatinga. She worked in the short film "TOMA QUE O BANDIDO É TEU" by Cia de Teatro NO ATO and wrote and acted in the short film "A INSOFISMÁVEL NATUREZA HUMANA", directed by herself. Recently she acted in short films such as AMARGO DA LÍNGUA, by Laura Rocha, in the short film PROCESSO SELETIVO, by PUPILA AUDIOVISUAL, directed by Isabela Morum, in the short film "NO DOS OUTROS É REFRESCO", by Ariel Gelak, NUOVO CINE DRIVE IN, by Victor Hugo and in several others, such as "TRADICIONALMENTE BRASILEIRO", by Victória Leite, "A VELHA GLÓRIA", by Renata Accioly and more recently "CONTOS DE NATAL", by Thiago Ramos. Currently he has been working on his audiovisual productions.

Robespierre Simões, nome artístico Pierre Simões, é ator, pianista e compositor. Nascido em Divinópolis, MG, iniciou seus estudos musicais na Banda do Colégio Militar de Belo Horizonte, de 1972 a 1978, tocando requinta e tuba. Durante esse período participou de vários festivais de música do colégio, tendo obtido um terceiro lugar em 1977. Em 1979 ingressou na Universidade de Brasília para estudar licenciatura em música, obtendo seu título em 1984. Participou do grupo folclórico da UnB em viagem à Líbia para o Festival Internacional de Folclore, promovido pelo governo daquele país. Participou de vários festivais e encontros de música promovidos por agitadores culturais, como Panelão da Arte, Concerto Cabeças e muitos outros. Participou da efervescente cena musical brasiliense dos anos 80 tocando com artistas, hoje consagrados na cidade e no cenário brasileiro como Cássia Eller, Rubi e Milton Guedes. Em 1987 foi trabalhar com Oswaldo Montenegro nos musicais Aldeia dos Ventos e Dança do Signos, excursionando pelo país também com o show Apenas Música. Em 1988 ingressou como professor de disciplinas teóricas musicais na Faculdade Dulcina de Moraes, em Brasília. Em 1989 foi convidado por Gonzaguinha para uma excursão nos estados do sul, de grande sucesso. Participou de várias bandas de baile durante muitos anos, destacando-se a Banda Sexto Sentido de Campinas, onde fez o seu aprendizado em música digital e sequenciamento MIDI. Excursionou pela Espanha e Portugal com o Coral Sarazate, em ocasião da EXPO 98. Lançou 40 CDs independentes, entre releituras de diversos gêneros, pontos de umbanda e canções autorais, sendo “My iron baby on the road“ o CD mais recente. Em meados de 2005 começou a trabalhar profissionalmente com teatro de fantoches, vindo a lançar um livro com peças escritas para esse público. Participou como ator de inúmeros espetáculos, destacando-se Negro ANJO AZUL, de Ricardo Torres e O tribunal dos Divórcios, de Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, com direção de Tulio Guimarães. Apresentou-se com o Grupo de teatro de fantoches THALITA CURUMIM em diversas salas do DF, em especial o teatro Yara Amaral, em Taguatinga. Trabalhou no curta “TOMA QUE O BANDIDO É TEU” da Cia de teatro NO ATO e escreveu e atuou no curta “A INSOFISMÁVEL NATUREZA HUMANA”, com direção própria.
