Director Statement

Marlin Leighton Lofaro began writing Intervals Of Horrible Sanity in January of 2022. Lofaro loved the mystery genre before he even knew what that meant. He was practically raised on Scooby Doo and once he was old enough began obsessing over books and movies of the genre. Early on in the writing process Lofaro knew he wanted to set up and play with some of the classic tropes and cliches of the mystery genre before tearing them down in the end. It was not until he began putting pen to paper that he realized that he would do the same with both the western and dystopian genres. After a year of pre production it was finally time to shoot. The entire film was shot in just three long, hectic nights, on a razor thin budget, in the woods of his school. Thankfully, due to his team of incredibly talented people the film was finally made.
