Experiencing Interruptions?

Intertwine:DARK WEB

To undergo the kind of modification we seek, we must surrender everything: our thoughts, feelings and autonomy. The loss of identity is inevitable, explicitly surrounding the internet and its many depths.
To portray this spiral into the inevitable loss of identity on the internet, I wanted to focus mainly on the greater space. I wanted to make my character (Alexa) seem small and insignificant and make the cocoon seem small in the space. I chose to frame it in this way so that when the final shot is presented, as the viewer you are reminded of the size of the cocoon. I decided to shoot each shot at a slightly lower angle every few scenes so that the camera could follow the transformation of the character from a human to an insect.
For the costume, I wanted to drop hints of this metamorphosis from the beginning incorporating a butterfly top to foreshadow the future. The wires entwined with the chicken wire frame are to resemble the shape of a cocoon and represent the “plague” that the internet has caused for young creatives.
With my story, I hope not to scare people from sharing art on the internet but to feel that they can express themselves freely without being unjustly critiqued, or feel they need to conform to a criterion of art to be worthy of belonging in the art community.
