Get ready for the third edition of the International Sport Film Festival 2024, where we pay tribute to sports-themed films that exemplify excellence, respect, and commitment. Our festival warmly welcomes all forms of sports-themed films, ranging from the world of professional to amateur sports.

During our last 2023 edition, we were thrilled to have 138 films in competition from every corner of the globe, along with the presence of esteemed individuals from the sports arena contributing to our panel discussions. We were also delighted to have over 2000 spectators across our varied screenings. This year, we're eager to invite more deserving directors and producers to showcase their work. Additionally, with our continued partnership with international media, we aim to reach an even larger audience.

Awards & Prizes

The categories for this year's awards have been thoughtfully curated to align with similar festivals. They include:

- Golden Runner: This award will be given to the film that best embodies the festival's principles.
- Best Narrative Film: This award will be presented to the most compelling narrative film, irrespective of its duration.
- Best Documentary: This award will acknowledge the most engaging and informative documentary of any length.
- Best Director: This award will commend a director whose work represents outstanding mastery and vision.
- Best Cinematography: This award will celebrate a film that demonstrates superior visual artistry.
- Best Performance: This award will recognize an actor or actress for a remarkable performance, regardless of whether it's a leading or supporting role.
- Best Web Production: This award will be given to the finest work created and distributed solely for the internet or social media.
- Best Series: This award will be presented to a serial work, regardless of its format or genre, produced for TV or the web, where sport is the central theme in most episodes.
- Best Student Work: This special award will highlight the productions primarily created by students, showcasing the upcoming talent in the field.
- Innovation Award: This unique award will recognize a work that stands out for its innovative approach, creative storytelling, and technical advancements in the realm of sports filmmaking.

Rules & Terms

Event Details and Location
The third installment of the INTERNATIONAL SPORT FILM FESTIVAL (ISFF) is poised to take place in the beautiful city of Castellammare di Stabia, in the Metropolitan area of Naples, Italy. As per tradition, the 5 days festival program includes morning screenings dedicated to local schools, public screenings starting from the afternoon, and a final awards night, followed by a celebration party. Exact dates will be provided on the official festival FilmFreeway page.

Eligibility
The festival welcomes all sports-themed works produced between 2022 and 2024. These works can be in any of the following major categories: Documentaries, Narrative Films, Series, Educational, and Vlogs.

Submission
To participate in the INTERNATIONAL SPORT FILM FESTIVAL, submit your work and pay the registration fee via the festival’s FilmFreeway page. There’s no limit on the quantity of works that each participant can submit. All non-Italian language works must include either English or Italian subtitles.

Submission Requirements
Alongside the digital format of your work, please provide the following:
- A film summary sheet with logline and synopsis in Italian or English
- High-resolution jpeg images authorized for publication and use in the Official Catalog, press release, website, and Festival promotion
- A trailer (not exceeding 3 minutes) in HD format or higher
- Biographies and filmographies of the director and/or the key characters

Selection Process
All entries will be evaluated by a selection committee, with successful entrants notified by October 1, 2024. Selected works will compete for awards in their respective categories.

Screening Requirements:
All selected works must be available in DCP format for cinema projection during the festival. Upon selection and admission to the festival, authors/producers may submit their DCP files either digitally or as physical copies. Should a film not be delivered in DCP format within the designated timeframe, it will be excluded from the official festival program. ISFF can offer DCP conversion services; contact the organization for more details.

Promotion
The festival reserves the right to use the names, photos, and audiovisual materials of selected works and participants for promotional purposes. It also may showcase the selected works to the press for promotional purposes during the festival period.

Legal Considerations
By submitting their works, participants agree to adhere to the festival's rules and regulations. The festival will not be held responsible for any copyright infringement or violation of intellectual property rights. Any legal disputes will be resolved under Italian law, and the jurisdiction of Torre Annunziata courts will apply.
