The “Int. New Mood U30 Filmfestival” is a short film festival for and by the U30 generation or the Generation Z.
The jury is made up exclusively of young people (independent artists, students and audience) who have an affinity for film - and only films made by young filmmakers who are still under 30 years old by the festival year will be judged.
Anything can be submitted, although narrative short films have a better chance (whether animation, live action or mixed forms), as this festival focuses on entertainment. Not undemanding entertainment, but our short film festival should be fun for the audience, innovative, provocative, exciting, ironic, strange, extreme, funny, entertaining... we want to entertain and not bore.
Unfortunately, short films receive very little attention and we want to change that. We want our New Mood U30 Festival to appeal to a broad and young audience. We want to offer young filmmakers and audiences a forum to show and watch their films.
And the films should be short films with a maximum running time of 15 minutes. If the films are not in German (in German language), English subtitles are obligatory.
There will be three open screenings in the run-up to the festival, where the audience will also have the chance to vote on which of the pre-nominated films will make it into the actual festival program. A kind of short film slam event.
The festival itself will then take place on November 14th & 15th in 2025, with two film evenings, small panel discussions with the award-winning filmmakers and a party afterwards.
The festival will be moderated by members of the jury.
There will be a first and second prize for each evening. These prizes are cash prizes of 1000 euros (1st prize) and 500 euros (2nd prize) per evening. As long as the prize winners come from Europe, the festival will cover the travel costs and provide food and accommodation during the festival.
Of course, all other filmmakers who go out without a prize are also welcome.
