Megan Travers is a senior at UNCW, majoring in Film Studies, with a minor in Digital Arts. An artist and a screenwriter, she enjoys exploring narratives from the completely constructed world of animation, utilizing the drawn line to the computer-generated image. Her stories especially explore ideas about perception, the world of the mind, and navigating fear and anxiety. Since one of her favorite hobbies is philosophy, she approaches her work with an aim to understand the first causes of both the subjects of her narratives and that of film itself. She is an intern with Wilmington’s EUE/Screen Gems Studios and recently served as a Narrative Submissions Screener for the Austin Film Festival. On campus, she has volunteered for Visions Film Festival & Conference, and is currently working on her Honors Project, a feature-length screenplay. Active in art and design as well, she is the Layout Editor for Honors Media’s Second Story Journal and is part of a team creating branding and packaging for a non-profit chocolate company based in Belize.
