India's Tryst With CIBIL

Although just founded in August 2000, TransUnion CIBIL (Credit Information Bureau (India) Limited) has become the defacto standard for credit scores in India, with scores ranging 300 to 900. Even so there still is a bit of mystery surrounding CIBIL; half of the people we asked didn't know what CIBIL was, and the other half described the derivation of their scores like art or jazz. Though not as prolific as credit scores in the US have become, most banks do check your CIBIL score before approving a loan. Today CIBIL maintains credit files on 600 million individuals and 32 million businesses. Access to credit is an important issue in wealth creation for entrepreneurs, startups, small businesses, women, and really anyone trying to get ahead. People in forums like Quora and Reddit r/India all over the world have been asking the question, "Is a 900 CIBIL score even possible?" This documentary seeks to answer that in search of the Perfect CIBIL score! And explore access to credit in India, or the lack thereof.
