The IndiEarth XChange Film Festival 2018 showcases a meticulously curated selection of rare documentaries, world premieres, contemporary releases, animations, international features, and a compelling selection of short films - providing a platform for both established and emerging filmmakers. This year's edition also features Film Awards for different categories, and is being presented in association with Live Tree - a London based company that uses cutting edge AI software to benefit the creative industries and help filmmakers secure funding.

Select Filmmakers will also participate in Q&A’s with fellow filmmakers and the public after the screenings.

The XChange 2018 Film Festival will be curated by internationally acclaimed filmmaker Harold Monfils - director of the multiple-award winning documentary Laya Project, and founder of Monfils Pictures.

Harold Monfils:
Monfils is a multi-disciplinary filmmaker, with a 30-year career of international exposure working on commercials, documentaries and features. Through the years his love for travel led him to shoots in over 20 countries and 5 continents, working with a wide diversity of cultures and people as director and/or producer. He has received international recognition and a wallpaper of awards for his advertising works.

In 2006, he directed award-winning feature documentary ‘Laya Project’, a visual musical journey through the 2004 Asian tsunami-affected countries. His film ‘A Good Day to Die, Hoka Hey’ documents the life story and extraordinary adventures of British conflict photographer Jason P. Howe and was selected to showcase in Cannes-France at Marche du Film in May 2016, then was screened at the Los Angeles Film Festival (LAFF) United Nations Event on June 7th 2016. The World Premiere was held at Biografilm Festival in Italy, on June 14th 2016.

LiveTree:
Established in 2016, LiveTree is a London based company focused on predicting the financial value films and content before it is made. LiveTree helps filmmakers secure the funding they need for high-potential projects that may be traditionally overlooked by typical channels. They use proprietary and cutting edge AI software is that built using a a unique database to financially forecast film projects at every stage of production.

LiveTree’s Blossom TV is a subscription video streaming platform similar to Netflix. Blossom TV will host some of the best and most promising content available around the world and provide an audience for it. Blossom TV also feeds viewership information into LiveTree’s AI software to evolve the financial prediction models and to keep a pulse on what’s trending. At a later stage, Blossom TV subscribers can invest in future film projects, own a part of the film and get paid every time it gets shown using blockchain technology.

The Film Awards at XChange 2018 will be judged by an esteemed jury consisting of filmmaker Harold Monfils, and key industry members from LiveTree.

The 7th edition of the IndiEarth XChange Film Festival will be held from December 1st - 2nd 2018 in Chennai, India. Film Submissions are now open, offering filmmakers the opportunity to showcase their work to an international audience at the festival.

Submission Fee / Categories:
$10 - Indian Films (fiction/ non fiction/ docu drama/ animation)
$20 - International Films (fiction/ non fiction/ docu drama/ animation)

Rules :
IndiEarth XChange accepts features, short films, documentaries and animation related to any topic or subject. The film must not be broadcasted on TV or available on the Internet prior to the program date. The films can be submitted from any part or the world and the filmmaker or production house can be of any nationality.

All Indian films require Censorship Certificate.

All filmmakers need to sign a duly filled Release Form for the event. The filmmakers, producers or production houses will be notified with a mail on the same.

Production Date:
The film must have been completed no earlier than March 2016.

Submission Format:
The Festival only accepts online screeners (password encrypted on vimeo, youtube or FilmFreeway). Only HD formats with minimum 1080p or blu-ray for the venue hall screenings will be excepted. No other formats are compatible. Films in any language other than English must be provided with English subtitles.

While sending the film via HDD, data dvds or pen drives, the package should be clearly labeled with the details as below:

1) Film Title 2) Director’s Name 3) Duration 4) Contact Information 5) Tracking Number.

• All costs are to be prepaid by the sender, and the IndiEarth XChange Film Programme will not assume responsibility for any charges. To ensure safe and timely shipment, mark the parcel with “NO COMMERCIAL VALUE - FOR CULTURAL PURPOSES ONLY”. All expense pertaining to return of External Hard Disks (HDDs, pendrives, DCPs) is to be borne by the filmmaker.

The Festival will at its sole discretion decide on the dates and order of the screening(s) of each film.

The Festival will take all possible and reasonable anti-piracy precautions. All prints and associated copyrighted materials will be securely stored and access is limited to the festival’s authorized staff only and all movement of prints will be strictly monitored. No duplication or loaning is permitted and no prints will ever leave the custody and care of the festival and showcase organisers.

The Festival reserves the right to cancel the selection of the film without any liability whatsoever.

Priority:
IndiEarth XChange gives priority to World / International or Asian premieres.

Selection Results:
IndiEarth XChange will notify the selection results to the filmmakers by November 13th 2018. IndiEarth XChange reserves the right to decide the section in which the selected film will participate. The Festival does not provide individual explanation on the non-selection or cancellation of a film showcase.
