Originally from the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, Jerry’s acting endeavors began after graduating college and relocating to Austin, Texas. While there, he began studying comedy in hopes of becoming a performer of improv. He attended the Merlin-Works School of Improvisation and the Institution Theatre and soon began performing with two improv troupes with fellow graduates. He later went on to continue his education in stage and movement at the State Theatre School of Acting in Austin, Texas, and eventually started acting in short, independent, and student films.
After returning to his home town of Chicago, he continued to act in multiple short films as well as performances in community theatre. Notable plays include Romeo and Juliet, Rabbit Hole, and Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson.
Once deciding to pursue acting professionally, he studied acting in Prague, Czech Republic.
While there, he collaborating on many film sets with film makers and actors from all over the world, most notably acting in a film called “Homeslice” directed by Bruno Copolla. He was inspired to write and direct his own silent film, a genre that he has long admired. “Indebted” is his directorial debut.
