Incomplete Breath

Neera is doing her masters in microbiology in University of Dhaka. She’s very keen to work on DNA sequencing and all things about it and barely interested into any other things than her study. Ayon is a medical sales representative who does philanthropic work like taking care of poor patients at hospitals or helping out the helpless people. Neera sees Ayon in the middle of a road, full of crowd in a very unconventional way and immediately fall in love with him because to her, Ayon seemed very distinguishable from the rest of the crowd. But Ayon doesn’t see her.
Ayon’s philanthropic stories are covered in a national newspaper and Neera gets to know more about him from there and finds out his den. She secretly keeps following him and one day calls him from distance to talk to him. But Ayon mistakenly thinks of her as a biscuit company marketer and address her “sister””! Neera gets upset. But Ayon keeps wondering about her after going home.
Ayon sees Neera buying some chemicals in the market and stops by to talk. Neera pretend not to know him at first but eventually they get along after a few minutes of chit chat. They fall in love in a very natural way and for the first time in Neera’s life, she’s in love! They spend time together, talk over the phone all the time. They get their breaths married to each other’s. Neera’s final starts so she stops meeting Ayon for a while, but they are always connected through the phone.
Ayon gets sick meanwhile and when Neera comes to meet him after her exam, she takes him to her father who happens to be a doctor for check-up. There they find out that Ayon has a rare type of cancer and almost at the end stage of that disease. They get Ayon admitted to the hospital immediately but he runs away from there without telling Neera as he sees no point of trying out for his cure. Neera breaks down and keep looking for him. Finally, she finds Ayon in Dhaka Medical College lying down on a bed with a bandage on one eye. She gets to know from him that he donated his to a blind boy and also donated other organs of his body too. Neera decides to marry Ayon in the hospital. Ayon denies to do this but finally agrees as Neera becomes adamant of spending the rest of the time with Ayon that he is left with. On their wedding night, Ayon gets severely sick and dies before Neera could take him to the hospital. There she got to know that all Ayon’s organs are need to be transferred from his body and they are waiting for Neera’s permission. Neera signs all the documents.
Many years have passed. Neera is an associate professor in the same department of her alma mater. She lives alone in Ayon’s house and has no regular connections with her close friends or family. She is still working on the DNA sequencing and believes that she can bring Ayon back by her scientific research. She goes to visit Ayon every day at the graveyard. One day she put some chemicals on his grave. A few days later, Neera hear a knock on her door and when she opens the door, she sees Ayon standing right in front of her in dirty cloths just like as he just came out of the grave! She takes him inside the room and give him a bath. She decides to go far away with Ayon as nobody would believe he came back for real. Neera’s brother Atonu calls her in the meantime and insists her to with them for ice-cream. But she says no to him. Atonu arrives at her door to take her with him. Neera keeps telling him to go away but he doesn’t listen. So Neera decides to tell Atonu everything about Ayon and how her scientific research brought him back to life. Atonu gets shocked seeing all Neera’s work and seeing Neera talking to Ayon because when he looks at that direction, he sees nobody there! He assures her that nobody’s there and starts crying but Neera continues talking to Ayon. It’s only Neera who’s seeing Ayon and talking to him. Ayon has a smile on his face…
