Director Biography - Sheridan Sinclair

Sheridan Sinclair began writing & producing amateur productions at the tender age of 41 in 2013, including the fan-made web-series Hitman: Vengeance.
He left school & served in the Royal Navy for almost 8 years as a Sonar Operator & then worked in the Prison service for 10 years.
Sheridan also worked part time as a Psychotherapist for 13 years before deciding to rekindle a childhood dream; to pursue a career in film.
Sheridan is equally comfortable both behind & in front of the lens & has attended regular acting classes & workshops with Derby Academy of Acting since 2014.
In November 2014 he enrolled on Raindance’s Master’s Degree in Film, through life experience, rather than previous qualifications.
He chose to focus on developing his skills as a Director & an adaptation of Lovecraft's The Terrible Old Man was the second film he Produced & Directed during the course with a professional Cinematographer.
He is currently working on his first full length feature entitled Remain Humane.

Director Statement

I was first introduced to the works of Lovecraft as a teenager by director Stuart Gordon's From Beyond (1986), it is still one of my all time favourite horror films.
When I learnt of his sad passing in March 2020 I decided I wanted to make a short film inspired slightly by one of his other classics, Re-animator (1985) as a homage to one of my filmmaking influences.
Due to covid restrictions in the UK, I kept the cast & crew to a bare minimum & decided to go with a VO to minimise any risks associated with actors delivering lines in close proximity. It also seemed more authentic to Lovecraft's style of writing.
